A key for greater happiness

July 18, 2013

Here’s a great idea…
In his book, Redirect, Timothy Wilson says,
“If I were to give one piece of advice for how to be happier, it would be to carve out more time with friends and loved ones, because the best predictor of happiness is the quality of our social relationships” (p. 51).

In other words…
Often we are so busy with work and activities in our lives that we neglect time with our friends and family. Time with loved ones helps us slow down, reconnect, and recharge. Strengthening our support networks provides us with vital resources for vibrant living and dealing with challenges.

Here’s how you can use this idea to have a better life…
Make time for friends and family this week. Have dinner together or call them on the phone. Rather than spend time watching TV, spend time really connecting with the people who matter to you.
