Getting to “yes”

May 14, 2012

Here’s a great idea…

In his book, The Pursuit of Happiness, David G. Myers says, “A person who approaches life with an attitude that often says ‘Yes!’ to people and possibilities lives with far more joy and venturesomeness than do habitual naysayers.” (p. 118)

In other words…

Our attitudes make a huge difference in how we experience the world. When we look at life’s offerings as things to be avoided, we will miss out on a lot of the joy that life has to offer. If we see life as an exciting adventure, full of possibilities for growth, we will find ourselves much happier and fulfilled.

Here’s how you can use this idea to have a better life…

If you tend to be timid, you’re not going to become a daredevil over night. But you can choose to try new challenges. You can say “yes!” to new opportunities. Try it.
